Convocation For Batch 2023-2025
The Convocation Ceremony for the 2023–25 batch took place on 26th May 2025, marking a proud moment of academic achievement for the graduating students.
Alumini Meeting
The first Alumni Meeting was conducted with active participation from batches spanning 2006 to 2024. A general body meeting was held, during which batch representatives were elected.
The Farewell Function, Lamhein for the 2023–2025 batch
The Farewell Function, Lamhein for the 2023–2025 batch was held on 28th March 2025, where students shared their cherished memories and experiences at the college.
Declaration of Green Campus
On March 27th, the Panchayat officials declared the institution a Green Campus and awarded the official certificate in recognition of its eco-friendly initiatives.
Capacity Building Program
A Stress Management class was conducted on 19th March 2025 by Vishnuprasad, a B.Ed graduate, HR Manager, and Life Skill Trainer for Sristi.
Breakthrough Science Society Visit
The Breakthrough Science Society visited our college on 16 January 2025 to promote scientific awareness and curiosity among students.
COLLEGE REOPENING
The college reopened on June 3 after the summer vacation, marking the beginning of a new academic term. A special assembly was conducted to welcome the new principal, Dr. Lidson Raj, who was formally introduced and felicitated by our manager, Rev. Fr. Pancretius.
ENVIRONMENT DAY
Environment Day was celebrated under the theme Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought-Free Islands with a program titled Jeevani.
YOGA DAY
International Yoga Day is observed annually on June 21 to raise awareness of Yoga. The theme for Yoga Day 2024 is 'Yoga for Self and Society' and the theme selected by our college is Yoga for Women Empowerment.
EMPATIA: VISIT TO ST. MARTHA SPECIAL SCHOOL
As part of our initiative to foster empathy and inclusivity among student teachers, a visit to St. Martha Special School, Menamkulam was organized under the banner of Empatia.
ANTI RAGGING DAY
The Anti-Ragging Day Celebrations at St. Jacob's Training College, Menamkulam, titled "EK SAATH 2K24," took place on August 14, 2024, with the aim of fostering unity and raising awareness about the harmful effects of ragging.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
The Independence Day celebration at St. Jacob's Training College, Menamkulam, on August 15, 2024, was a memorable event, infused with patriotism and cultural pride. The two-day event commenced on August 14th with a Patriotic Song Competition at 1:30 PM, allowing students to showcase their love for the nation through soul-stirring melodies.

WORLD FOLKLORE DAY
World Folklore Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at St. Jacob's Training College, Menamkulam, on August 22, 2024, under the leadership of Art Education lecturer, Mr. Prijith Kumar V.S. The event focused on honoring and preserving cultural traditions, as depicted by the vibrant visual presentations shown during the celebration
NATIONAL SPACE DAY CELEBRATION
The science club of SJTC initiated its club activities in August. On 23 rd August 2024, based on the National Space Day celebration 98 students along with 6 teachers from St. Jacobs Training College, Menamkulam had an opportunity to visit the VSSC, TVM.
FAREWELL PROGRAM
The farewell program for the 2022-2024 batch at St. Jacob's Training College, Menamkulam, titled "Adios Amigos," was held on August 27, 2024, at 10 AM in the college auditorium. The event began with a prayer song by the college choir, followed by a welcome speech from Mr. Subin, the Chairperson. Dr. Deepa P., the Staff Secretary, delivered the Presidential Address, while Dr. Lidson Raj, the Principal of SJTC, gave the Inaugural Address.
SCHOOL INDUCTION PROGRAM
The School Induction Program was conducted from 2nd to 6th September 2024, involving 55 student-teachers. As part of the programme, they were assigned to various schools, including Govt H.S Kazhakuttam, Govt H.S Attingal, Govt H.S Kulathur, Govt H.S Sreekaryam, Vettucaud St. Mary’s, and Kadinamkulam St. Michael’s. Other participating schools included St. Joseph’s Palayam, Pallithura, Kaniyapuram Muslim Boys, Kaniyapuram Muslim Girls, and Kaniyapuram St. Vincent’s.
ONAM CELEBRATIONS COMPETITIONS
On 11th September 2024, vibrant Onam celebrations were held with various competitions like Thiruvathira, Onappattu, and traditional games. The college was beautifully decorated with flowers, and intricate Pookalam (floral carpets) added festive charm to the campus. The enthusiastic participation of students made the event colorful and memorable.
ONAM CELEBRATIONS
On 12th September 2024, Onam celebrations were held with a vibrant cultural performance by Team Ozadari from Wayanad. The group, known for representing the rich traditions of the Paniya and Kattunaikka tribes, captivated the audience with folk songs and dances like Kambalanatti and Vattakkali, blending tradition with festivity.
S3 TEACHING PRACTICE OATH TAKING CEREMONY AND LAMP LIGHTING
On 24th September 2024, the S3 Teaching Practice Oath-Taking Ceremony and Lamp Lighting was held with solemnity and purpose. The program began with a reading from the Holy Scriptures, followed by inspiring messages from our Principal, Dr. LidsonRaj, and Vice Principal Rev. Fr. Thadayoose Philip along with faculty members, provided detailed instructions covering attendance, school discipline, uniform, ID cards, lesson plans, teaching aids, reflective journals, blogs, and biweekly reports.
GANDHI JAYANTHI
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated by cleaning the inside and outside of the campus. Following the cleanup, students prepared tapioca and chutney, symbolizing the bond and emotional connection shared among them. This activity reflected the spirit of unity and simplicity, honouring Gandhi's values of self-reliance and community.
WORLD NATURE DAY CELEBRATIONS
On October 3, 2024, the Natural Science Optional students of St. Jacobs Training College conducted a program titled "Natura Artifex" (Nature is the Artist) to commemorate World Nature Day as part of subject association activity. The program aimed to foster leadership qualities and raise awareness about the importance of nature.
WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
As a part of the Mental Health Day celebrations on October 10, 2024, our college organized a Subject Association program. The objective was to create awareness, foster understanding and stimulate discussions about mental health issues among the student-teachers. The theme of the program is EUNOIA, meaning "a transformative journey toward mental well-being," EUNOIA is the guiding philosophy of the event, fostering self-awareness and emotional resilience.
ONE DAY TRIP WITH THE OPTIONAL TEACHER
Students from various optional subjects, along with their respective teachers, went on a one-day educational trip. The English and Malayalam optional students visited Kuthira Malika to explore the literary significance and aesthetic beauty of the site. Meanwhile, students of Mathematics, Physical Science, Social Science, and Natural Science visited the Planetarium, enriching their knowledge through scientific exhibits and celestial observations.
INSPIRE, MATHS OPTIONAL SUBJECT ASSOCIATION PROGRAM
The Mathematics Association programme was held on 17th October 2024 at 2:30 PM in the auditorium of St. Jacob's Training College. The event aimed to highlight the importance and relevance of mathematics in everyday life. It featured a principal’s message, a video presentation on the lives and contributions of mathematicians Srinivasa Ramanujan and Bhaskaracharya, and engaging stories from mathematical history. The programme concluded with a mathematics-themed competition at 3:30 PM.
ELECTION OATH-TAKING CEREMONY
The college election was successfully conducted on October 18 under the supervision of Polling Officer Thadayoose Philip. Students from both Semester 1 and Semester 3 actively participated, reflecting strong enthusiasm and democratic spirit. The election process was carried out smoothly and the results were declared as per the guidelines provided by the university, ensuring transparency and fairness. The elected student representatives took their oath of office during the official ceremony held on October 23. This event marked the beginning of their leadership journey and commitment to the development of the campus community.
CONVOCATION 2022-24 BATCH
The Convocation Ceremony for the 2022–24 batch was held on 26th October 2024, celebrating the academic achievements of the graduating students. The event was graced by Chief Guest Most Rev.Dr Christudas, R, Auxiliary Archbishop, Latin Archdiocese of Kerala and Guest of Honour Dr. Bindu R.L., Dean, Department of Education, University of Kerala. Along with the graduation ceremony, merit awards were presented to outstanding students in recognition of their excellence.
BRIDGING BORDERS (SUBJECT ASSOCIATION PROGRAM- ENGLISH)
English Association program was conducted on 30th October 2024, under the title Bridging Borders: Entering the World of Language, Literature and Life. The programme was done by the English optional headed by professor Swapna. Bridging borders came under the theme of Halloween by portraying the evergreen classics of literature. It sheds light to a bunch of art forms including century-based dance forms, drama, poetry, fairytale, fiction and so on. The programme enlightened the audience with the concept of how language and literature influence human life.
KERALA PIRAVI AND MALAYALAM SUBJECT ASSOCIATION PROGRAM
The Kerala Piravi celebrations and Malayalam Optional Association Programme, titled ‘Dyuti’, were held on 1st November 2024 with great cultural spiritr. The event was inaugurated by renowned writer Sri Naduvattom Gopalakrishnan and was adorned by Principal Dr. Lidson Raj and manager Rev. Fr. Pancretius. The afternoon session featured vibrant performances by Malayalam Optional students, including portrayals of iconic female characters from Malayalam literature.
PHYSICAL SCIENCE SUBJECT ASSOCIATION PROGRAM
The Physical Science Association’s program ARTEMIS was held on 8th November 2024. Principal Dr. Lindson Raj delivered an inspiring message, and Ronald Sir offered felicitations. A video showcasing science in movies was screened, followed by a tribute role-play honoring Marie Curie and C.V. Raman. Students also performed a dance drama to raise cancer awareness. The event was both informative and engaging.
ONE DAY MONUMENT VISIT TO ALLAPUZHA
The Semester 1 students went on a one-day educational visit to two historical sites in Alappuzha district. They explored Karumadi Kuttan, a revered three-feet tall black granite statue of Lord Buddha located in Karumadi village near Ambalappuzha, and also visited Krishnapuram Palace, a historic palace and museum in Kayamkulam known for its traditional Kerala architecture and cultural exhibits. The trip offered valuable insights into Kerala’s rich heritage and history.
NOVEMBER SENT-OFF MEETING
A warm sent-off meeting was organized by the staff in honor of Dr. Ronald Rose. The gathering reflected the team's appreciation for his dedicated service and valuable contributions. Heartfelt wishes were extended to him for continued success in his future endeavors.
SPORTS DAY
Khelotsav 2024 was held on 3rd December 2024 at St. Jacob’s Training College with enthusiastic participation from students and staff. The event began with a prayer and a march-past by the students. Ms Jincy Eugin, Assistant Professor of Physical Education, delivered the welcome speech, followed by a special message from Dr. Lidson Raj, Principal of the college, highlighting the importance of sports in student development.

UNION INAUGURATION
St Jacob's training college newly elected union celebrated their inauguration ceremony and arts club inauguration on December 6th 2024 at our college auditorium and the chief guest was the playback singer Miss Reshma Raghavendra, Also the function was inaugurated by our principal and the felicitation speech were conducted by vice principal and the union staff secretary .The guest inaugurated the function and also reveals the new union Name AAGAZ, after that she performed some songs and celebrated it . And at afternoon session we conducted our cultural programme.
CHRISTMAS LUNCH FOR THE STAFF
On December 19th, all staff members enjoyed a joyful day of fun and laughter over a Christmas lunch, followed by a visit to our manager, Rev. Fr. Albert, who is recovering at the priest's home after surgery.
CHRISTMAS DAY
The program was inaugurated, and the presidential address was delivered by Dr. Lidson Raj. A Christmas message was delivered by Rev.Dr.Thadayoose Philip. The ceremony also included a cake-cutting ritual and a gift exchange. Felicitations were delivered by Mr. Manoharan and Mr. Subin. The vote of thanks was presented by Megha Anna Thomas.
BREAKTHROUGH SCIENCE SOCIETY VISIT
The Breakthrough Science Society visited our college on 16 January 2025 to promote scientific awareness and curiosity among students. The session emphasized the importance of science in society and highlighted the need for scientific knowledge in everyday life and decision-making. As part of the visit, the team brought a portable telescope, giving students a wonderful opportunity to observe celestial objects firsthand.
CRITICISM CLASS
Criticism classes for the second-semester students were conducted on the 22nd and 23rd of January at St. Jacob’s Training College. These sessions play a vital role in fostering reflective and effective teaching practices among teacher trainees.
REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS
St. Jacob’s Training College celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm on the 24th and 26th of January 2025. The festivities began on January 24th with a special assembly in the college auditorium, concluding with a patriotic song and National Anthem competition that highlighted the students’ talent and spirit.
CYBERCRIME AWARENESS PROGRAM
A Cyber Crime Awareness class was held on 3rd February 2025 at 10:00 AM by Mr. Roy from the Cyber Crime Police Station, Thiruvananthapuram. The session was organized under the guidance of our Principal, Dr. [Principal's Name]. Mr. Roy educated students on cyber bullying, online scams, child pornography, and online extortion.
MOCK VIVA
The mock viva sessions were successfully conducted on 11th and 12th February 2025, helping students prepare thoroughly for their final assessments.
COMMISSION
The commission evaluations took place on 17th and 18th February 2025, with external experts reviewing the students' performance and project work. These sessions provided valuable feedback and boosted student confidence.
S3 EXAM
The Semester 3 examinations were held on 3rd, 5th, and 7th March 2025 in a smooth and organized manner. Overall, the academic activities were carried out effectively, ensuring a productive learning experience.
AUXILARY BISHOP’S MEETING WITH THE STUDENTS
On 21st February 2025, a special Auxiliary Bishop’s Meeting was held with the students. The manager engaged in one-on-one sessions with both teaching and non-teaching staff, fostering open communication. Students were also given the opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns directly.
QUIZ COMPETITION ON NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY
In celebration of National Science Day, students from St. Jacob’s Training College, Menamkulam, conducted a quiz on February 27, 2025. Alongside presenting their innovative scientific ideas, the B.Ed. students specializing in Physical Science and Natural Science organized a science quiz program for their peers.
S3 EXAM
St. Jacob’s Training College, Menamkulam, successfully hosted a vibrant Women's Day Celebration on March 7, 2025, at 2 PM in the college auditorium. The event, held under the inspiring motto "Accelerate the Action – An Empowered Woman Creates an Empowered Generation," was inaugurated by the college principal, Dr. Lidson Raj.
INAUGURATION OF THE COLLEGE PLAYGROUND
The Grand Inauguration of the newly developed SJTC college playground took place on 19th March 2025 at 9:30 a.m., with Prof. Dr. Francis Sunny, Principal of Marian Arts and Science College, as the Chief Guest. The event began with a welcome address by Principal Dr. Lidson Raj, followed by a ribbon-cutting and flag hoisting ceremony.

A Stress Management class was conducted on 19th March 2025 by Vishnuprasad, a B.Ed graduate, HR Manager, and Life Skill Trainer for Sristi. The session focused on understanding stress and its impact on daily life.

A Capacity Building Program on Life Skill Training was held on 19th March 2025 by Baby Prabhakaran from Bluepoint Organisation, an NGO, emphasizing the importance of life skill education for students' personal and professional growth.
